Identifiers Without Overreach
Choosing keys that support journeys without building a shadow profile you do not need.
Session keys, install IDs, and account IDs each answer different questions. Using the strongest identifier for every event is convenient—and often unnecessary.
Match identifier strength to purpose: funnel drop-offs may need only a session; subscription health may need an account; exploratory browsing often needs neither tied to PII.
Document join paths so engineers and analysts share the same map of what can—and cannot—be linked.
